Electronics Papers for 2012
The following papers are being taught this year. See the Degree Programmes page for details on the BSc programmes. We offer both a major and a minor in Electronics for the BSc, and the minor in Electronics is available for certain BAppSc programmes.
Semester 1
- ELEC 253 Electronics: Introduction
- ELEC 353 Analogue Electronics
- ELEC 361 Measurement and Analysis
- PHSI 365 Computational Physics
- PHSI 461 Linear Systems and Noise
Semester 2
Please note: papers ELEC 354 and ELEC 358 are being combined in 2012, and being taught under the number ELEC 358. Students enrolled in either (or both) of these papers need to see Colin Fox. Year 3 students enrolled in the Electronics BSc should take the paper PHSI 365 to fulfill degree requirements.
- ELEC 358 Electronic Design Techniques
- ELEC 401 Digital Signal Processing
- ELEC 402 Opto-Electronics -- substituted by PHSI 472 in 2012,
- ELEC 404 Imaging and Inference
Fourth-Year Projects
In 2012 fourth-year projects are available as ELEC 480 or PHSI 480/490. All projects are jointly supervised by both Colin Fox and Tim Molteno
- Iterative maps with prescribed erogodic densities
- Short-baseline radio astronomy and image synthesis
- Characterising noise in Satellite Navigation Receivers
- Bayesian inference for image analysis
Students should contact either Colin Fox or Tim Molteno for further details.
